"Traveling in the uncertain"
The science fiction novel "Traveling in the uncertain" of the Russian author Victoria Unikel occurs now days in a Russian town. The book is about adventures of Dima and Nina. They casually find a portal and thereby the secrets of parallel worlds and planets.
On the instructions of the schoolteacher children go to their sick schoolmate. Passing through old park they pass an old building. They say, there were top secret laboratories in the past (USSR time). Children saw how "gangsters" enter the building. Strange and magic things happen to them there. They run away startled. In the haste they forget schoolbag of Nina.
The next day happens something strange: Dima finds Ninas's schoolbag but ... the bag became so small that one can hide it in the pocket! The youngsters decide to observe the entrance of the strange building. They note a strangely looking man who suddenly disappears. The youngsters enter the building. They experience strange things again. Suddenly they get through the portal which unexpectedly opens. The first step in a parallel world was done!
First Dima and Nina land in a desert with blue sand and many suns. They spend the night in a strange wood. At the beginning they think that they are back on the earth again. However, then they meet dreadful monsters. Dima wounds one of it. Then they meet two people, brother and sister Rast and Molla. They take the youngsters with them to their cave, give them to eat. Then Rast and Molla leave the cave and disappear. Dima and Nina stay alone. When they wake up, they try to understand their new situation. They bite to the capsules whith the information is which Rast and Molla left for them. Thus they find out how they can survive and their current duties. They also don't know that they are an object of an experiment. The girl To-EnA 3 (one of the observers of this huge trance-world-time experiment) decided to help them.
Now they live like prehistoric people. While Nina works in the household, Dima must hunt. And sent fur with the special lift to their observers. Dima and Nina think permanently of the escape.
Nina flees in that parallel world where they were before. Dima stays alone. However, also here Nina doesn't stay up long enough to find help. Now she is a city, city of the future...but the future of another Planet. She quickly finds work in a café. However, then she meets Rast and Molla unexpectedly. They help Nina to get a better job in a bird's breeding factory. With charm and craftiness Nina finds out how one thinks access to the main system where everything is regulated.
Meanwhile Dima stays in the cave where Nina left behind him. To-Ena-3 uses her whole skill, in order to help him to get to the escape and transfers him into the other sphere. From now he is called Tobol. The real boy Tobol (who lived on this planet before) is like his internal voice. Tobol determines from now what must Dima do, act and express. Thanks to Tobol Dima finds out that there is an old nation (main nation) on the planet where they are. This is a big civilization which has secret knowledges. Civilization of the defender of the universe.
In order to get necessary biomass for the scientific experiments of Tobol they fly to the other sphere. The inhabitants of this sphere are people-prying mantes. They help Dima and Tobol get the necessary biomass. Thy tell them that they are on the planet Elora. The first inhabitants of this planet adopted these praying mantes because their planet was destroyed by the monsters-aliens. The same could also happen to Elora. From Elora Dima and Tobol travel to the sphere where Dima was left alone by Nina. This is a special sphere for the science purposes. Tobol searches for a plant which grows only here. Although Dima finds a possibility to return to the earth but he decides to stay in order to find Nina.
Returning back their space ship was attacked by the aliens. They steal biomass. After landing Tobol explains that his scientific work is directed against the hostile aliens. The enemies wanted to steal not only biomass either Tobol. But the aliens didn't recognized him because Tobol was hidden in Dima's body.
The general alarm and quarantine was arranged on Elora because of a hostile spy. All spheres were isolated. Tobol said that he leaves Dima's body and advised Dima to leave Tobol's flat immediately. He also recommended to try to get a job on the bird's breeding factory.
Dima makes everything what Tobol recommended. In the factory he meets Nina. She helps him to get a job.
The city was on the alert because of the quarantine. Dima and Nina use this situation and flee to the other sphere which hardly differs from the previous.
The youngsters dress themselves like inhabitant of this sphere. They go to school which is also under the alert. Instead of the lessons there will be explained and showed to the pupils what could happen if Elora will be conquered by aliens. They can change there appearance any time. (The author describes pictures of war, abduction of souls, horrors which the mankind must avoid).
Finally Dima and Nina got to the sphere where they met Rast and Molla. In the cave they found a man called Morut. He wants to leave this sphere as soon as possible. Someone gives him the instruction how to flee over the Eath. Dima and Nina had dressed up their clothes and ran to the gate that leads to the Earth. They left Elora at the last minute before war has stated.
The intergalactic war began after the gate has shut behind them.
They regained consciousness on the same day in cellar of the building ... where their adventure has started.
But the bodies of the youngsters were changed: now Dima's and Nina's bodies are ... the gates to another worlds, planets and universes and...They have returned not alone: in their bodies live Tobol and...To-Ena-3.
This is just the kind of jargon-free, humane, character-driven novel to convert sceptical readers to science fiction and to show to new generation how to be tеolerant, peaceful and to concern with understanding other cultures let even most unusual.
